Dave Burk was appointed by the Board of Directors on July 12th to finish out the vacant seat on the Board which will be until the term ending 2022. The Board thanked Dave for his willingness and committment to the Glacier View Fire Protection District. The position was recently filled by Steve Switzer who had to resign due to health issues. Steve was thanked by the Board for his past several years of service and support to the fire department.

"The North 40 Mtn Alliance is starting up a transportation service in our area. We have a 13 passenger van and we are in the process of applying for grants. It would help us to know who would use the service, what they need the service for, and when they would use the service. If you can fill out the survey, it would help us to make the most of the grants and offer transportation service that works for you. Go to this link

Transportation services we can provide with the van. 

1. The van drives people into Fort Collins for groceries, appointments, prescriptions

2. The van picks up groceries, prescriptions, supplies and delivers them to a central location or home delivery. 

3. The van does drops library books and materials off at a person's house and checks in on the person.

4. The van takes a group of people into Old Town to visit the stores, and /or walk or ride a bike on the trails. 

5. The van takes people into town for a social event like a movie or concert, etc.

2021 Annual FIREWISE Event - July 10th, 10am-2pm

Glacier View Fire District will be hosting a community Firewise event Saturday, July 10th, from 10am-2pm.  Join us for this opportunity to learn how each of us can become further Firewise ready and protect our mountain homes from the devastation of a wildland fire.  

Representatives from the several professional organizations, as well as your local fire departments, will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on wildland fire preparedness.  We look forward to seeing you July 10th.

New GVFD Board Member

The Glacier View Fire Board would like to recognize Gordon Cummingham as the newly appointed Board member. Gordon will serve the remainder of the vacant term. The term will end in 2022. The Board members will take positions at the April 12th Board Meeting.
